Default 94 camry v6 oil pressure light is on

I have a 94 Camry v6. The oil pressure light came on about four days ago. It only comes on when the motor warms up. Once the motor warms up and you let off of the gas and the car goes to low rpms the light comes on. If you accelerate it will go back off. But eventually the light stays on no matter what rpms it is at. Any ideas? Please and thank you!...........

I have recently solved the problem for now anyway. I changed oil/oil filter with a thicker weight oil and lucus oil treatment. I have been driving it for a couple of weeks and the light has not returned

It could be low oil pressure. The light comes on at less then 5 psi oil pressure.

When the engine is cold the oil is thicker. The thicker oil is more difficult to move through the various engine oil galleries, bearings, etc. The result is higher oil pressure then when the engine and oil are warm.

The oil pump is geared to the crankshaft. When the engine RPM increases so does the oil pump RPM and pressure.

Have you check the oil level? If OK your best route is to install a pressure gauge in place of the oil pressure switch and monitor pressure under the various conditions you listed.

Normal oil pressure range when engine warm and at 3000 rpm is 36-71 psi.

If the oil pressure is low, engine damage can occur. Best check out the oil pressure ASAP.

Common reasons for low oil pressure (if oil level is OK) are:
Stuck oil pressure relief valve (controls oil pressure to stay with the specified range). Worn engine bearings.
Clogged oil intake screen from sludge or other debris.
Excess oil pump clearance.
Bad oil pressure switch.

Second what Joey said.
Please check your oil level!

questions
when was the last service ?

how many miles /kms on the engine ?
if high in numbers ... more engine diagnosis required such as oil leaks / burning oil /worn bearings

third opinion
all the above plus a clogged oil filter ..if engine not maintained
