97 camry 5S-FE Oil leak from valve cover
I have a 97 Camry 4Cy 5S-FE engine. I need to replace the valve cover gasket because the side where the ignition coils are is leak. Does anyone know whether the bracket that connects the throttle body to the head, near the ignition coils has to be removed? Also, is anybody out that experience oil leaking from driver side rear of the valve cover near the ignition coils? There was a person on Internet that claimed that there is a rubber plug where they used to put the distributor that leaks. http://www.toyotalexusforum.com/toyo...-97-camry.html

The distributor was eliminated when the ign pickup sensors were moved to the front of the engine. Take a close look at the area to determine if it is the plug or the valve cover.
The cover should come off if you remove the 4 large nuts.

The Ignition coils are so close to the valve cover I can't tell if there is a plug behind it. The car has 150,000 on it, so it is time to replace the valve cover anyhow.
I was worry that I might have to remove the throttle body like the 1MZ-Fe engines.
Thanks, XpPaul
