I want to swap out the starter cable and I've got a couple feet of 4 AWG cable laying around. I need to know how much current the starter cable can draw so that I know whether or not the new cable can handle it. The current cable is too short for a new battery terminal I got and I'd like to just have to purchase a new end piece instead of a new cable.

note: I also have a screw down crimp thing made for 4 gauge wire that I could use to simply extend the current wire and shrink wrap it, but My friend who's a mechanic said I might as well just replace the whole cable if I can.
