Block heater - radiator hose

Block heater - radiator hose
I'm not sure this is the right forum in which to place this, but I suspect I'll find out soon enough.
I just received a heater which is to be placed inline with the lower radiator hose. The question I have is how to adapt it to the existing hose. '96 Toyota Camry, xle, 4cyl.
Do I cut the existing hose, or do I buy special hoses made for purpose, or can I just buy a stub to fit between the radiator and the heater?
Thanks for any help.

RE: Block heater - radiator hose
thats pretty cool, just cut the existing hose as needed and put it inline. example if the body (not the part the hoses slides over) is 2 inches, cut 2 inches off a nice straight part of the hose. install, put on 2 new clamps, run the plug somewhere it won't get rubbed through.
have fun.

That is what I was hoping to hear.I wasn't sure if I would run into a wire wrap to go "sproing" in my face.
The hose is listed at 1 3/16" and this is as close as I could find at 1 1/4" That is only about 32 thou larger, so I should be able to cram it on there. I found it at an old shop going out of business. Every other one I found was 1 3/4" or 2".
Thank you. I'll post how it goes, when I get the car shut down long enough to instal lit. Probably next week end.

Update: I stopped into a shop yesterday and John quoted the shop manual as $90 minimum. Apparently that one is a bitch to get to.
My grandson-in-law is a pretty good amatuer wrencher, so I have a call out to him to see if he would like to help. I'll know in a day or two whether I go to Spokane next w/e.
