Replace Heater hose. 97 Camry

Default Replace Heater hose. 97 Camry

I have a 97 Camry 4cyl and my heater hose has a hole. I'm trying to replace but cant seem to remove the hose from the firewall. can anyone help me out?

This is one of the hoses going to the heater core? You removed the clamp?

The hose connects to a pipe that connects to the heater core.

The underlying tube is pretty thin. Don't be too aggressive with pliers or you can crush or twist the tube.

Try taking a sharp blade such box cutter, gently cut length wise along the hose. Split the hose down to the pipe. The pipe may be made of a soft material thus try not to scratch the pipe when cutting.

One split, try gently twisting the hose. Might work liquid hand soap into the hose/pipe joint first.

The hose will break free eventually, take your time, be gently.
