Default Can you put a 2001 Corolla (4cyl) engine into a 1999 Camry(was 4cyl)?

Hello, I am new here and hope I am doing this right. I bought my amazing child a 1999 Camry and it was drivem for 2 weeks before a rod through the engine!!!! There was a ticking noise but no knocking so I was so shocked. My child is a straight a student and has postponed dating to focus on studies. And needs to travel between two campus' to accomplish the goals that my child has set. I have seen and have been given (going to go pick it up this weekend) a 2001 Toyota Corolla that is a 4 cyl. automatic but tranny is completely gone in. So I thought that I would put the engine from the Corolla into the Camry(with long distance guidance from my brothers....they do not know this yet). I do not make a lot of money.....just enough to pay the bills and can save up for most repairs. So, will the engine go into the Camry without much trouble?

No, the engines are different.

Camry has 5S-FE

Corolla has 1ZZ-FE.

ANYTHING can be done if you've got enough money and want to bad enough!
Cheapest way to get a driveable vehicle is to get the Corolla transmission repaired or replaced.....
