Crazy idea need help
I own a 2010 camry le. The car has been a freaking work horse. But she's starting to feel the abuse. The engine and Trans have both been making lots of noise and slipping. I was wondering if anyone has done an engine swap. But not for another 2010. I stead like a 2015 or 16. The price is so much cheaper on those with better miles. And I figure if I replace engine and Trans should be less problems?

Engine years seem compatible. Trans years interchange seems to stop at 2010-11. Then pick up again in 2012..
Assume a later model trans will bolt up, may be a gearing or trans sensor change.
The trans was supposed to be a newly designed 6 speed in 2010 thus doubt Toyota would have dumped it only a few years later.
Typically with later year engine swaps may need to swap a few parts from the old engine to the new. A sensor or throttle body design may change and with this your cars computer software is looking for old sensor or part.
Try asking at the Toyotanation.com website.
