Hi, I own three Camrys, mine, my wife's, and my daughter's. (2015, 2016, and 2018). It is such a hassle to change each oil 4 times a year, which times 3 is 12 times a year. I unfortunately have the duties of the oil change captain. I feel like I live at the dealer. The entire staff knows me!!! geez....I'd rather be at the bar watching NBA basketball on a Saturday.

So I found the following oil https://www.searchforparts.com/oil-c...y-2.5l-a25afks for my 2018 which a friend told me about and this way I can just change my oil 1 time per year, or in my case 3 times, which would be great instead of 12. My buddy will help me do it for free so no begging the dealer to put an aftermarket oil and I will buy the oil for the other two vehicles as well.

Then my cousin had to butt in one day and said that no matter what, synthetic or not, I need to change the oil at 3000 miles or 4 times a year. Now I am baffled and don't know what to do. He is a mechanic. I really don't want to go back to 12 oil changes a year and this 1 year old change is a blessing!! Is my cousin right or hopefully wrong? Opinions welcomed! and thanks!

 

If the car is still under warranty then use the oil change schedule provided by Toyota.

Check your owners manual or use the site below for oil change intervals.

For synthetic oil 5K miles is the shortest interval. Thought Toyota recommended 10K but check this. Take note that if 10K miles then don't stretch this to 15K.

How many miles per year does EACH car rack up?

 

thanks for the info and reply! Each vehicle averages 12k per year so I am gonna roll with that oil and change each vehicle once a year all at the same time.
