We now have a new 2013 Camry. The "old girl" began making a new engine noise, and you might think that's not a reason to buy a new one, but........ it was time.


The old girl now has 400,067 miles on her and she needed a rest.
We live 42 miles from town and she's traveled to and from town every weekday since 1999. Service? Every 2,000 miles faithfully from day one and with synthetic oil. Two timing belts, four brake changes, one valve adjustmen, front and rear suspension twice and that's it.


I took her into our mechanic and he found the timing belt was loose enough he could pick it up off the pulley by hand and the water pump was on the verge. $665.00 later and she's purring like a kitten again.
We gave her to my son and daughter in law to use in town now. They have a Dodge Ram 4 door truck and a Chevy Suburban, so the old girl will now relieve them of their gas and mileage woes.


The service department tells me we're changing oil etc. every 5,000 miles on the new Camry, but........... I don't think so. We'll compromise with every 3,000 miles but, despite what the service department says, that's going to be cast in stone for us. Why? Take a guess.


How far will the old girl ultimately go? I dunno........ but I'll keep you posted.

 

Your getting up there as a number of Camry have reached 450K miles.

Daily driving is good so keep it up.

If not doing so, suggest you also service the trans,diff and power steering fluid on a regular basis.

 

Joey, it might be safe to assume that after than many miles all of those things were done on a regular basis.
