Default Fusible Link problem

Ok guys i know this isnt really about performance or anything but i know from having a mustang that a forum is probably the best place i can find out some info on my problem:

I have a 1988 Camry as a daily driver that sat for a little bit and wouldnt start. It looked like the fusible links went bad, but when my dad(bad idea letting him touch it) tried to pull them he completely screwed up the housing that the 3 links sit in. I was wondering where/ if i could find the part to replace it. Also i'm guessing that the links melted because of a short somewhere in the system correct?

correct. check all the fuses, if they are good, then just re wire the links. if the problem isnt fixed take the car in, or see if the short blew something, like your ignition module or something. oh ya, and check all grounds.
