Hi,

I have 2013 camry hybrid. I can't rev the engine when idling in park mode. Even if i floor the pedal (when engine is running) engine responds very slow its like dead. But when i drive its normal and engine responds as it should be as i press gas pedal. Why i can't rev on idling in park mode. Is it by design ? I never had hybrid vehicle. i am old school guy who love to rev engine before moving

if the engine check light is on there will be fault codes in the ecu to be read

could be the idle control sensor needing a clean or faulty

the 2013 camry hybrid is fitted with a throw away plastic pedal sensor
I would start checking the issue from there
