New Member with 03 - stripped head bolts
My neighbor thought he was going to have to replace the motor in his 03 XLE that has about 110k on it. Long story short....I bought the thing dirt cheap from him after a little research into the stripped head bolt issues with the 2.4 motors.
Looks like the Time-sert kit and the NS300L kit are the best ways to insert heli-coils in the block and solve the problem. Hard to believe the cost of those kits and the difficulty with finding a used kit or renting from someone.
Figured I'd hit one of the forums to see if any members have one for sale or know of a source for renting either one of those kits.
Thx....Jim

Also ask at the Toyotanation.com site.
Internet list a site at $125/week for full kit with jig. Includes 10 inserts worth say $5 each thus actual tool rental cost is around $75. Assume others sites are out there.

Thanks all. toyomoho.....nice find.....that seems pretty reasonable.
Best I could find locally was a guy that will do it for $35 a hole. I'm sure if I did deeper, I could find others but the tool rental thing may be the way to go.
