Default Parking brake question

Re: Camry LE 2007

The parking brake in my Camry is the push-in pedal type, down below steering wheel. My daughter inadvertently left the parking brake on when she started up, and drove at low speed (25mph) for about one quarter mile with the parking brake still on. She said it made a whistling noise and vibrations in the car periodically. I am surprised she could drive with it on though! My question for the forum is - the car seems fine now. Would something like this do any damage? I was just going to get it checked on the next scheduled oil change.

Thanks

In your case most likely no. If done consistently the shoes will wear out and drum could warp.

If the car has rear disk brakes the E-brake system has its own drum/shoe setup separate from the disk system. The disk system would not be effected leaving the E brake on.
