Summer months ahead: remove thermostat??
1993 camry 4 cyl.
Living in texas with summer temperatures averaging 95 degrees. is it wise to remove the thermostat for better coolant flow during these trechurous months of heat??
or is there a different thermostat for summer months to install??

Unless the cooling system has a problem it should be able to cool the engine in 100F degree weather.
The temp needle on the gauge should always be steady and at the same spot once the engine has warmed up.
If the needle is moving around as you drive, indicating hotter during stop and go driving, etc the cooling system has a problem.
The standard thermostat is 180F. The thermostat should open or close to keep the engine coolant temp within a normal range.
If you take the thermostat out the engine will never fully heat up, engine wear will increase, the coolant temp will vary with the driving conditions, MPG will drop.
