Default Synthetic oil ? for '03 2.4L - which weight, will it leak at 91k mi?

I just bought a 2003 Camry XLE which has been running conventional oil its whole life. I would like to switch it to synthetic oil, mainly because the increased service interval works well my with my lack of free time. The engine benefits are less important to me. I searched a bit and couldn't find an answer for these.

I read that the standard oil weight for the 2.4L camry is 5w-30, is this the recommended weight for synthetic as well?

I am also concerned that with 91k miles on the engine, that the switch to synthetic may cause the seals to develop leaks. Is this likely? There are presently no oil leaks/seepage/etc that I can locate.

Thanks everyone - this is my first camry.

Use the same weight oil. If it has no leaks now, then the synthetic should not cause a problem. You can use the Mobile 1 High Mileage synthetic which has an additive that helps keep seals in good condition.
