i just finished installing a used motor and there's one connector that i can't find a home for:

it's behind the intake manifold on the passenger side

Year/engine model?

Number of wires to plug, color of wires,

Is the new engine exactly the same as the old?

If a 4 cylinder the EGR VSV is located in back of the engine.

Toyota uses a lot of different style and color plugs.

If the number of wires and colors is not enough (should be but).

While your in there a close up of the front and side of the plug with rubber shield pulled back can also narrow down things down.

In the engine compartment:

The power steering oil pressure switch has a single red/white wire going to it. The plug appears to be in the area of your photo. So, check the power steering system for the opposite plug.

Ign coil No 1 has a red/white wire and a white/red wire,this is most likely a 2 wire plug.
