i have an 02 camry and it makes an annoying whisteling noise. anyone know what this is? maybe the intake?
also, has anyone else had trouble with their transmissions not shifting outof second gear? and yes, the fluid is fine

well it only has 60k miles on it, so thats probly good.
i dontt hink that is the cause of the whisteling noise since its been doing that ever since i got it
but thats a good guess for the tranny issue, ill get that checked out

Can you describe the noise a little better. Does it rise and fall with the engines RPM or MPH?
There were some updates for the computer software to solve shifting issues.

well i can only hear it under 1k rpms. and only under accelerating while its under 1k. most obvious when idling, wheather its in drive or park, and coasting/braking at low speeds when the rpms are under 1k. it comming fromt he engine bay and isnt that high of a squeel, more of a whistle.
yea. except when reving it in in neutral/park. then the whistle increses a little bit, only till 1k, then eitherthe sound of the engine covers it up, or it goes away. its definetly not the transmission if thats what ure asking.
If you can hear the noise at idle, us a section of hose as a stethoscope to run down the location.
