Question 1990 Camry A/C Problem

My daughter's Camry is blowing warm air from the vents. The A/C controls are set on high and cold, the compressor clutch is turning, all the fuses are good, and I can't figure it out. I have a can of 134a with the removeable hose and gauge and when I connected it, the gauge showed 0 pressure. When I gave it a short shot of 134a, the gauge shows an overcharge. Very weird. I've used this setup on my Jaguar, so I know it is okay. Any thoughts on what the problem is?

Don't know what I could have done. All I did was connect the hose, checked for system pressure, gave it a half-second squeeze on the charging handle, and rechecked the system pressure.
Could this be a stuck expansion valve? I saw that in another thread.
