1992 Toyota Camry LE 4Cyl, Auto
I have a Camry with 175k miles, run like a champ. One day when I was turning the a/c on MAX in bumper to bumper traffic. It was hot outside, a/c didn't work very well. Only the cooler days, a/c came out freezy.
I thought I just need to add more R134 freon later. However, when I was stuck in traffic, my car starts smoking from under the hood, i got scare and moved the car to the shoulder and turn off the engine. Before engine was off, I see the needle went pass the letter "H" of the temperature gauge. I though the engine is over heating. Checked the oil, it smells fine, no burnt smell=engine is still good, radiator is empty. Resevoir is also empty. When got home (towed), I pour water into the radiator, let the engine run, turn on a/c. Discover the cooling fans are not running even when the engine was hot.
Does anyone know what procedure I should check to make sure the correct part need to be replaced? relay, temp sensor switch, fan's motor, ecu???
Thanks
Danh
