1997 camry v6 have no reverse
Hi All,
Here are the details/history... Vehicle is an 97 Camry (a541e) check engine light came on with code P0753 (Shift Solenoid A Electrical) I just changed the shift solenoid yesterday now can't reverse only forward with code P0753 & P0758.
This is my dad car he passed away six years ago I try to hold on to the car as long as I can just to remember of him.
What could possible wrong ? any help is greatly appreciated,

Just a quick question the original solenoids does not have the ground wire (blk) the news does have a ground wire required to attach to the valve body.
Are they interchangeable ?
This is the original look likes.

Don't know.
Appears to be a different solenoid design. The ROSTRA part does come up when researching the Toyota part number substitutes. However on VERY RARE occasion RO has listed the wrong part.
Did the solenoids fully seat into the valve body?

Checked on the car last night and here what happens.
Fluid level = Normal
Reverse = Moved forward a little bit then stop.
Drive = Not moving.
2 = Moving forward
L = Not moving
This happens without stepping on gas pedal.

Other then the trouble code did the trans have Forward and or Reverse prior to changing solenoids.
Have you done the suggestion below:
