1998 Camry Won't Start
Looking for some advice...
My 98 Camry 4cyl will not start. The engine started and ran for a couple of minutes and stopped and won't restart.
The engine is getting spark to the plugs but am not sure it's getting fuel. The timing belt was replaced about 60,000 miles ago and should not have failed???
Are there any checks or common problems I need to be aware of?

Did the car make a sound when it stopped running (bang?) or did it just kind of die like it ran out of gas? Let's start with the basics: air, fuel, spark. You have spark and I assume that there is no obstruction to the engine getting air. You need to make sure the engine is getting fuel. I'm not too familiar with this model Camry, but when you turn the key to the 'on' position can you hear the fuel pump kick on for a second or two? After trying to start the car, you can also take out one of the plugs and you should be able to smell gas and/or the plug is wet with gas. Any check engine light? Is this car driven daily? I just wonder a little bit about water in the gas.

No, it just stopped like it ran out of gas. The car is a daily driver but had not been driven for a couple of days. It cranked fine and ran a couple of minutes before shutting off. BTW...I think I hear the fuel pump running when I turn on the switch.

when was the fuel filter changed
you may have a fautly fuel relay
or the fuel pressure regulator at the end of the rail
to test for fuel i undo the fuel rail to fuel line in connection
if it sprays.... pressure is in the rail ;;;;;so that wont be the problem
next i look to injectors if they have 12 volts to all
if you have spark .. then it is surely a fuel delivery problem
timing belt change is every 95000 km/three years in australia
no idea what that is in miles
or you can fit the newer type timing belt that lasts 6 years
