Default 2000 camry 4 cyl

Does the 2000 camry 4 cyl have basically the same engine as the 93 - 96? I need to change timing belt and have oil leak. Have same experience with 95, so wondering if I'm dealing with the same engine?

Same engine model 5S-FE. The 2000 would have cam and crank sensors instead of a distributor.

Default Engine Swap

Hi guys, I'm new here to the forum and I wanted to do an engine swap to my 2000 Camry LE 4SA. I was wondering what engines you guys would believe would be the best for an engine swap into my Camry? I want to stick with a 4cyl engine, with that I was thinking about swapping in a K20 with the stock trans and was wondering if this seemed like a valid idea as i'm fairly new to engine swapping and need some direction to go in. Also If you guys could direct me to other forums that could help with this project of mine, that would be greatly appreciated too!

Are you trying to put a Honda engine into the car?

If so, look into the Toyota MR2 and K20 swaps to get a idea of the issues as this has been done..

Suggest looking into putting a 1MZ-FE into the car. This was an option and would be a bolt on process but still require a good deal of effort and parts..
