Default 2002 Camry Battery/Starting issues?

Hey i have a 2002 Camry , 4 Cylider. one day it wouldnt start, jumping didnt work. i charged the battery and jumped it and it did start. i bought a new battery but that one is now dead as well. do i have a short somewere ? anyone experience this problem ? Thank you for reading

Might be excessive parasitic drain on the battery when engine is off or the alternator is not charging OK.

Recharge the battery completely.

The link below is one of many found on Google that describe how to check parasitic.

Battery Drain Parasitic Draw Testing

Check the trunk light to make sure it turns off when trunk is closed.

Check alt operation by measuring battery voltage between battery terminals with engine off and at 1500 rpm. Should be around 12.8v engine off and approx 13.5-14.5v engine on.

ahmm, how about "dead battery 101" - cleaning cable terminals? also, if you have composite terminals, meaning - it's several separate pieces bolted to the cable - oh do they rust and lose conductivity!!
