Engine model?

How much oil is burned per 1000 miles.

It is possible the now hotter oil plugged up the oil drain holes on the piston. This engine has a problem with this and oil consumption starting 70-90K, the over heating may have hurried things along. Or the cylinders were scored, or both.

On the off chance, check the PCV system for plugging which can increase pressure inside the engine.

Watch the coolant level as this engine also has a problem with 3 or 4 head bolt threads pulling out of block causing leakage.

Most likely not much can be done without taking the engine apart.
