2004 toyota camry 2.4L automatic transmission
Good day, I need help with my sisters car.
Shifter would not go to neutral, reverse, or into park.
Dash reads on D. Im able to switch down to 2nd gear and the low gear and back to Drive, but it would not go to neutral reverse or park. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Not sure what your stating.
Is the shifter arm not physically moving into P, N or R?
Or
The indicator lights are not showing P, N or R when in these gears and may be showing D instead?
Or
The shifter arm is physically in these gears but the trans doesn't engage and disengage?
On the off chance if the shifter can move into P, N and R. Have someone move the shifter from P to 1st while you view the action at the transmission shift lever on trans housing. Make sure the lever is moving its full travel and not somehow malfunctioning.
The shift lever arm on the trans is connected to a rotary electrical switch which turns the gear indicator lights on/off.

The indicator lights are timed to the shifter in the car.
The shifter in the car has a lock out device to prevent accidental shifting from D to R. Make sure this device is working and not stuck. It's a mechanical device.
If you want to confirm its the shifter, disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever on the trans, then manual try to move the lever. With ignition switch on, the gear indicator lights will change with the shift lever position. If you can move the lever to park, the trans is OK.
The shifer can be taken apart but suggest some kind of guide to do so.
