2014 Camry XLE Hybrid
Hi, I purchased a 2014 Camry XLE Hybrid with leather and suede seats.
The front seats are hard as a rock. It is so hard that is puts my butt asleep.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
The dealer, in talking to Toyota, is about to replace the padding in the seats. I hope this helps.
I have had two other Camry s and never ran into that problem.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have a 2013 Camry LE with the same problem. At 79 I have a nerve problem in my left hip and leg as almost all men my age. (Totota, there are a lot of seniors that might want to buy your car). Guess what it does to that. I also just talked to the dealer and I am going to replace the cloth with leather and add padding. This upgrade will be a dealer cost and I hope it helps. Otherwise I will get rid of the car even though all else is fine with it.
I don't understand why Toyota is doing this. Regardless of what level of new car you buy the seats are the most important thing and should be comfortable. After all that is the one thing that gets your attention more than every thing else. The first thing you encounter when you get in the car, and constantly encounter it. Right now I would never buy another one due to the seats more than anything else.

Rock hard and uncomfortable in the middle? A few complaints from others, some stating the seat is unusable.
If dealer no help might contact an auto upholster. If the side of the seat has a build-in airbag, this may complicate things. The seat will have verbiage at the location of the airbag.
The SE model may use a different seat but new seats are very expensive.

On Monday, the dealer changes the sponges for the front seats of my 2014 Camry Hybrid.
I made a small difference, but not quite there. I think that the seams in the seat running the way they are is compounding the problem. The service manager told me that the seats are attached to the foam where those seams meet the foam.
I think that this causes the hard foam between these seams.
I have to call him tomorrow and will see what he says.
The back seats are hard also.
The seats are leather with suede inserts
Anybody else have comments on this problem, a solution maybe?
Thanks

I think that it may not be the cushion and might be similar to your last post. Maybe the leather material is stitched so tight that its not letting the material "give" when you sit down. I know they can't make the seats too soft thought because then it becomes a safety issue if the seats are too soft. There has to be some "stiffness" to the seats but maybe not as much as yours has.
I think you might want to contact an upholsterer. Not so much for repair but maybe for some advice to soften things up. I work in leather boots and sometimes they are real stiff and unforgiving. I have gotten them wet and worn them around a little bit to get some flexibility and softness in. I do not think you should soak your seats or anything but maybe there is a method to soften up the leather.
