Tried to start it just a few minutes ago - no go. The dash lights come on - then, I get three different messages.
1 - Check charging system
2 - Blind Spot Monitor Not Available
3 - Power On
Pushing the start button seems to do nothing except reset the process of these messages re-appearing.
This car sits a lot - and I do mean, a lot. Mileage about 85,000. In the last couple of years, I bet it hasn't been driven 500 miles. So, I am worried about you know what.
The car has a separate smaller battery to start the engine (like a non-hybrid car has). This battery could no longer have a charge and thus not be unable to start the engine. Fix this problem first and determine what happens to the other codes. Charge up or replace this smaller battery.
