92 6 cyl fans on low only
I'm having overheating issues with this as well. I've noticed that the fan is only working at the lower speed. It will not kick on to the higher speed ever. I've read about relays and switches for this fan but I don't know where they are at.
It seems that the low fan speed is causing the coolant to boil in the rad and causing an air lock somehow, cuz flow seems to be blocked by the rad. I've flow tested the rad and it seems fine, but when it gets hot it overheats.

Are you talking about the blower fan and not the rad fan? The blower fan speed problem is the fan resistor and is located in the blower fan housing. You'll need a new one. It does not control engine coolant temperature.
Is the fan hydraulically operated? If hydrauic the fan is operated by the power steering pump and there is a cooling fan ECU and a electric solenoid. Have you checked your power steering fluid level? There is a component check procedure which I'm not going to copy from my manual but which you can get from a Haynes repair manual or from the Auto Zone web site on cooling.

I am talking about the radiator fan. The engine is overheating and I think it might be because the fan doesn't go into the high speed.
Where are these relays located?
I know there are two fuse/relay boxes near the drivers side headlight, but the inside of the lids are no longer marked to tell you what is what?
I am also thinking about changing the temp switch that is in the T-stat housing. Correct me if I am wrong, but that switch provides input to the fan, right? Its not just for the needle on the dash, right?

Enter your year and make into repair info, then engine cooling. There should be what you're looking for.

I've run all the checks I could, including the ECU. Not even when I jump the ports in the Diagnostics port does the fan go to high speed.
Then I thought i struck paydirt.
The elect connecter for the power steering pump solenoid was disconnected!
But when I plugged it in nothing changed. So I'm leaning towards thinking the solenoid valve is stuck in the low position.
