Hi everyone. My brother has a 93 camry, v4 2.2 automatic. Whenever we push down on the gas to shift over to second gear it has trouble shifting. It revs up high without shifting and if it does shift it jerkes really hard. I changed the transmission fluid and filter about 6 years ago and now it's black. I checked the transmission shift solenoids and looked like they are working. It dose not have a check engine light but I checked it anyway with the paper clip and gave a code 12, knock control sensor signal. I'm not sure if this would albe the problem or not but what do yall think?

 

Code 12 is an issue with the ign system most likely the distributor.

Can the trans be shifted manual as in put in 1st, then move to 2nd,etc.
