Default 95 Camry no sparky

95 le 2.2 no spark. 210k on motor. Car acted funny last month of operation. Sometimes when coming to a stop it would idle terribly and sometimes die. If popped into neutral and reved it would come back to normal. Went out for work one morning and started it like normal, it ran on idle for about 2 minutes and died. Tried to restart, no luck. Pushed it into garage and started trouble shooting. Removed plug and tested for fuel. I have fuel at the cylinder. Grounded plug no spark. Investigated the dist/coil. found oil on dist and replaced along with plugs and wires. Tried to start no luck. Timing belt is intact verified by removing cover and rotating the crank. Tried to ground plug again still no fire. It turns over like normal.

Make sure the coil and igniter have 12V DC and wiring is OK between all ign components. Power wires are White/Red .

Along with the distributor you replaced the cap and rotor?

Check coil.

Igniter failure is untypical but can happen. There is no test procedure other then replacement.

I have 12v at ignition, and at power wire to dist. I tried the rotor with the key on and got nothing. I removed rotor, and have nothing at the shaft either. I don't know if this would be a source of voltage, but should have got something from the rotor. with key on.

Checked resistance on coil primary is .07, and I cant get a reading on secondary. Going to take new dist back to have checked.

Any update on this? It appears I'm having a problem similar to this with about the same primary coil resistance reading.
