I have a 95 camry with slow but chronic leak after resealing valve cover serveral times thinking it was the cause I paid more attention to the oring and read up they are problematic ..so I tried this seal from the back side with blue silicone..hope it works. the leak is slow but keeps you on your toes if try to keep that drive way clean and save some on oil top offs...

Turns out the leaking distributor o-ring might be a 1995 model problem. I had the same re-occuring leak from the o-ring. TwoOEM replacements also leaked. However I just smeared a little RTV in the o-ring groove and re-installed the dist., so far the small but consistent leak has stopped. However, I recommend getting the timing mark just right on assembly as you won't be able to turn the dist. after RTV cures. I also have not tried to remove dist. yet. Posible other solution is aftermarket 0-ring that is a little thicker that stock.

 

where did you the oversize aftermarket one?

 

I didn't try that, but it is a better option than RTV, I was just lazy and didn't want to drive 40 miles to supplier. Usually industrial supply houses carry array of o-rings. Take OEM one in and try to match with thicker one. It will be trial and error as you may find distributor replacment a little tight, but use oil on o-ring. I'd also inspect o-ring groove for nicks. I even tried 800-1000 grit emery cloth polish of groove, but no fix.
