Default '96 v6 POPS IN RF PILLAR CLOSE TO DASH

Have had this car about a month. When the car is caused to flex a slight bit (graveled road, accelerating, decelerating, curvy road, etc.) there is a slight pop or snap sound in the right front pillar between the passenger door and windshield, close to the dash. I thought it was plastic trim that would shift slightly against another piece of plas. trim, but I've removed all the trim and that didn't solve the problem. When to Toyota body shop and they suspect it's a body weld. The manager I talked with said his wife had had a '92 Camry with same body style and about 100K miles, the same sound was on her car. Said there were several other folks with body styles like this one and had same issue (one of which he clarified had NEVER been in an accident). The pop or snap is annoying--mainly when the radio is off b/c then I can hear it. Any ideas? tks
