What engine type V6 or 4-cyl?

Did the engine start and run OK prior to the fuel pump change? Are you sure the problem was the fuel pump?

It is the 2.2 ltr 4 cylynder
i drove it one night to the store and when I try to leave for work in the morning it went into reverse moved about five feet and died. while I was looking around trying to figure out what was going on I realize the fuel pump is not turning on when I turn the key on so I check out the fuses and nothing seems bad or blown then I noticed the fuel pump is not coming on so I replaced the fuel pump but the engine still seems starved for fuel when I try to start it. Oh by the way I probably should have mentioned this before the Camry has over three hundred and thirty-five thousand miles on it. also when I changed the spark plugs I noticed that there was engine oil on them I've been told that's a blown head gasket hopefully if that's what it is is not a major expensive fixed and sees all their heads right on top because I please get some direction or insight on what to do with the Camry thank you in advance

The fuel pump will only operate when the engine is cranking over or running.

Engine oil on the ceramic portion of the plug? If so the spark plug tubes may be leaking.
