Default 99 camry transmission leaking, smoking and metal shards

I got a 99 toyota camry and the speed sensor went out and it started to get where it didnt want to come out first gear and then two day later im driving and i herd a couple loud bangs for the transmission and it started smoking got home jacked it up and trans oil is pouring out at the end of the tranny next to the motor and there was a few metal shards and a few big metal chunks coming out and i can let it cool and crank it back and put it in P,R,N,D and as long as i hold the brake and dont move the car it wont leak but as soon as i start driving it starts pouring trans oil out but it will go and switch gears like normal but bout every 2-5 mins it will make a loud bang like somethan hitting the flywheel trying to lock the motor or somethan. Im not losing any oil from the transmission ive checked it bout 20 times its still full. The trans oil that is coming out is stright black. I need to no what it is and if i could of messed my transmission up!Thanks!

If a 4 cylinder check the differential and fluid as it has its own fluid chamber separate from the trans. Check the speed sensor, sometimes if broken it leaks oil badly.

Note: If a 4 cylinder any oil leaking out of the diff housing will not be made up by the trans or indicate on the trans dip stick.

Check for oil leaking where the axles go into the differential housing.

Chunks of metal suggest damage way beyond normal and the possibility of total failure soon.
