Air Induction Service? - Camry 34k Standard Edition, Is this service worth it?
So I am in Toyota today and they are recommending air induction service... I read some info on the web and the information is... well meek to say the least.
Has anyone got this service on their camry? If so, was it necessary?
Now I have an idea of what this is, cleaning of overall intake, throttle, combustion chambers, etc..
Is this necessary?
My camry has been owned for 1.5 years mostly highway miles. 34,000 miles currently ont he vehicle.
Please share and provide insight.
Also, they are charging 109+ tax. so 124 total.

Never heard of this before thus cannot state 100% this is something you don't need. But 99.9% sure you don't.
Unless the car is running poorly, it should only require those services listed in the owners manual. And if running poorly the dealer should fix the problem under warranty.
If Toyota thought the car needed this service they would have listed it in the manual.
These extras are typically a way for the shop to make extra profits!
You might also ask at the Toyotanation website, pretty sure the response would be the same but less polite.

haha yes I would imagine that response... but yes I agree that it seems unnecessary. The meek explanations of it on the internet, point to it being a simple cleaning process that probably offers no real benefit of any kind and it is NOT listed in the service guides... anywhere.
