It is much better but I still can't get the pedal up to where it should be. I checked the rear shoes and they will need replacing soonthat may be part of pedal distance.
As nodrogkam says, adjust the shoes. If air is suspected in master then have your wife put pressure on brake pedal as you "crack" the brake lines going into the master. If there is air in there it should squirt out. Don't let your wife take her foot off the brake pedal until you have tightened the line fitting.
