Default Brake question please help

I have an 05 Camry SE V6 and I'm replacing the front brake pads on it. I had to replace some hardware and long story short, there are clips that go on the end of each pad and I can't remember if they go on the tops or bottoms of the pads. I have a Haynes book but it doesn't say or show anything about these little clips. Does anyone know off hand? Thanks for the help.

One clip on top, one on bottom? Or two clips at the top and two at the bottom?

Do these clips hold the pads in place, a spring type clip?

You not talking about the pad wear indicator are you?

I believe they are the wear indicators. I'm 99% sure that both clips go on top..

Thanks. Don't know why but I was second guessing myself. Just needed confirmation. Much appreciated.
