Default A/C and Heating Control

Just bot a 1990 Camry, had it detailed, and then discovered that the air will only come out of the dash vents regardless of where I put the slide control. Air will not go to floor or to the windshield ( defrost ). I suspect the detailers knocked off a vacuum seal or something ( hopefully that simple ) , but not sure where to look. Anybody got a suggestion on where I look to troubleshoot this issue ?

Thanks in advance.

My "mode" control is operated with a dial that electrically operates directional doors, yours being a slide may use a cable to open/close the air directional doors. I doubt the detail guys got behind the dash and disconnected anything and suspect it was sold to you like that. You'll need to pull the section of dash that houses the radio and air controls to see if the cable has broken or become detached.
