Default Can't open Fuel Door on 1999 Camry

Hi, I've heard of these fuel door springs breaking on other Camry's. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement other than the dealer? I heard of someone taking their vehicle to the local repair shop for this problem and they had it fixed in a matter of minutes. Obviously they were used to seeing this problem. They either had them available very close by or already stocked them from the dealership. Anyone know about this? I really don't want to spend a fortune for a tiny piece that, in my mind, should have been build better.

Thanks!

Common problem, you should be able to replace the spring yourself. This is a Toyota dealer part.

Have someone pull up on the fuel door lever or pull it up and place something under it to keep it up.

Pry the door open with a credit card or something thin that will not scratch the paint.

Determine if the spring clip is broken, if so pry out the part and replace with new.

Thank you! So it's ONLY a dealer item?
