Default Chain or belt

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure that an '09 Camry has a timing CHAIN and not a belt that has to be replaced every 60k or so... Thanks

Default RE: Chain or belt

Is there any history of Camry timing chains breaking or jumping a few cogs, or cam gears stripping? I had such a problem on my 1973 Chevy Chevelle 350 at a mere 62,600 miles, because GM used a plastic cam gear on its small block V-8s in 1973 and 1974. Is there a recommended replacement, or at least inspection, interval for the Camry timing chain? (I have a 2005 4-cylinder.)
