Went to change the oil in my 2011 Camry (4 cyl.) Everything went great until I wasn't sure how to get the old filter & canister off. I did purchase the special tool that fits over the housing, but it wasn't budging. Was afriad to put too much pressure on it. Any thoughts? Thanks!

 

not sure what you mean by filter AND canister. I have 07 4cyl, there is only filter. no canisters.
what kind of tool do you have? a cap type, matching filter shape? those spread and open. get one that looks like spider legs.
someone must have put ton of torque onto that filter.
silly as it is, but because filter is vertical, you sure you properly turn it to undo?
