Default Changing air filter

I am planning to change air filter on 98 camry.

I will be getting k&n 33-2145-1 air filter.

i read on some sites that we have to remove four clips and disconnect hose and sensor. One some websites and youtube video, most say remove two clips, slide out the air filter and replace it with new one.

Which of the above is true? Any pictorial or step by step procedure would be appreciated.

Thank you.

what do YOU have? sometimes you have to undo all four; sometimes, you can tilt air intake hose and slide it in and out.
btw, good choice on filter. does nothing to power, but improves mpg by about mile to a gallon with moderate driving habits.

My car has two hooks towards the fender. I heard and read people having problems with k&n filter. is it unsafe? My camry has done 145k as of now. So will it have any adverse effect?

Also which is better - paper or cotton based filter? Some are oiled some are not. Again, what's better?

K&N is cotton, oiled filter. some say it lets in lots of particles and may cause damage to throttle body as it may get dirty and sticky? what's your opinion?

ALL of my cars run on K&N filters and for YEARS. all run very well. the only concern is not to over-oil it when cleaned, as then oil gets onto MAP/MAF sensor and makes it malfunction.
your setup sounds like my wife's RX300. I simply tilt cover and slide it out and in. on my TCH, have to do all four screws.

i know most people won't like this, but i got FRAM Filter from walmart for $12. It is good for 12k miles since that's the most i will keep my car. So decided not to go for k&n.

i will be changing it today. i will take a video if possible.

thank you.

Replaced the filter. Took all of 5 mins. Don't know what to expect but everything is fine for now. Will keep an eye on economy.
