Default Clicks into gear, CV Joint? Or???

Hi,

I have an auto 92 camry with the 2.2. When I put it in drive I hear a loud POP, when I put it in reverse I hear a loud POP. If I'm moving on the highway and I put it in neutral then rev up and slide into drive, no POP. I know the struts are toast, but I'm doubtful that its coming from the strut.

Noise is from the front right, what do you all think?

Thanks
Shawn

Worn or damaged CV joints will make noise under rotation especially when the steering is turned completely over to one direction. Since this is NOT the case with you- you can rule out the CV's. I would look into a possible motor mount issue based on your description.
