As per title.

I recently picked up an 08 hybrid to use for driving Uber and the most annoying thing has reared its ugly head in the form of the auto door lock every time I put it in gear. As you can imagine with my doors opening upwards of 50-60 times a day, my door locks are going to wear out pretty damned quick. Also someone is eventually going to yank a door handle off because I can't get it into park quick enough.

So, can I go in and change settings using any type of Bluetooth scan tool or am I stuck giving the dealership a couple hundred bucks to plug a computer in and click a button?

 

I do not think bluetooth scan tool will do this job.
maybe it can be done via Techstream (Toyota dealer level diagnostic software). The cable is cheap, you need to connect to a laptop.

 

on a hybrid carrying passengers not a good idea to bypass the auto door lock safety feature

yes you will need to replace door actuators as they fail .
.prius is US $60 each .camry US$94 each..... if in stock

toyota parts claim life time warranty... if no warranty offered
.stock up on a few sets as each door actuator is not interchangeable

Uber and taxi, people movers drives, have that same expense outlay




is chrysler a partner of toyota and I didnt know it ?
