Default Engine covers

I basically ripped off the 2 engine covers under my '08 Camry hybrid today with a parking curb. Well, one of them is ok but the other didn't fair to well. I know they are on there for aerodynamic reasons but can I just leave them off. Thanks, Frank

The covers do many things. Aerodynamics (MPG), cabin noise reduction, keeping road debris off the engine, air flow though the engine compartment.

Its OK to leave them off. May or may not notice some slight change in the above previously stated areas.

If the area uses road salt, watch for ingress into the engine area which may cause rust.

Make sure the covers still on the car are firmly in place. That they are not going to start coming off when driving.

These covers are low cost, readily available (do internet search( and easy to install. Held on by plastic screws and rivets. Eventually it may be a good idea to replace them.
