I was wondering if there was a way to find out the year of the engine of a camry I was also wondering if the 92 and 94 camry transmission 4 cylinder can be swapped

 

if both camrys are wide body and both 4 cyl

was built within these years a XV10 (1991–1996)

the manual gearbox should be the same
automatic is a .1992-2001: 5SFE model S51...

I hear around that they are the same but the problem as well is that for some reason when I check on autozone.com the two cars transmission has different part numbers so its strange to have that if they use the exact same transmission

 

Because of the volume of vehicles and parts toyota handle day to day by computer

they use the vehicles Vin number always then year of build in all part identifications

then go to a visual check of the part required

1992-2001 ... thats 9 years of possible superseded or changed parts ....... some numbers will change for the same part


in this case you are two years apart ......so its the same transmission
