I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I have an 09 Camry (2400 miles) and occasionally right after starting my engine, I hear a faint grinding noise that lasts for less than a second. Has anyone else have this problem or know what's causing it? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Maybe try a really thin spacer under your starter. Sounds like it is staying engaged too long.
