Default HELP with 89 camry

Hello,

First off I know nothing about cars. I purchased an 89 Camry and it drives great. I brought it into get a safety and the mechanic informed me that I need all the bushings and ball joints replaced. It will cost $800 (canadian). Am I getting hosed?

Thank you very much for your help

I dont think that i would need all the bushings and ball joints at the same time although the car is older and it could be correct but, i'd have my doubts

Thanks for the help man. This realy sucks. I only was going to drive the thing for a year or so so this seems like a stupid ammount of money to pay. Would this be something that would normaly not pass a safety or is this guy just being realy ****? I dont want to be a hazard on the road but at the same time its not like Im going to take it on the highway or anything.
