Help Connecting Remote Starter Switch
I have a 2000 Camry with the 1MZ-FE engine. I recently bought a heavy-duty remote starter switch to help me perform a compression test. I live alone and help is rarely available, so this seemed the way to go. But I'm not sure that it is even possible to hook this up properly. At the battery connection on the starter, there is a nut holding the cable in place, but there is insufficient thread protruding from the nut to allow the alligator clip to take hold. And if I try attaching the alligator clip to the nut, it just won't open wide enough. And then, more confusingly, at the so-called "S" connection on the starter there is an electrical connector--no nut, no threads. Surely, there are those of you that do compression checks using a remote starter switch, and I'd greatly appreciate your input. Is this even possible on my car? Or do I need to buy a different product? I know, maybe I just need to find a friend! Thanks for your help.
