Default Help replacing rear view mirror on '97 Camry

It's a long story but my rear view mirror broke and fell off the black metal "****"that's attached to the windshield. I need to get the black **** off the windshield in order to install the new rear view mirror. Does anyone know how to get this black **** off of the windshield of a '97 Camry? There is no visible screw to remove.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Your metal bracket is glued onto the windshield(believe it or not!), you need to purchase a glue remover and the windshield glue to put it on. You can easily find them at a local autoparts store. Make sure to clean the surface on both sides before glueing back on the windshield.

Hope this helps...

will don't you just get an ome mirror and snap it in instead of doing the glueing...unglueing....or yet go to an automotive graveyard..
